Ok so I'm not a fan of the new camo the army is using, the new pixel camo. To me camo is used by soliders or hunters to blend in with the environment. Nature in itself has round shapes and little boxes don't really go with the environment. So having boxes just blows, what the army should have adopted is the new multicamo. Even though we have had a good topic on the forum on camo, I would like to show you guys the multicamo. You see until Airsoft night I was a fan of the old woodland and olive camo, but thanks to you guys I am a mulitcamo fanboy. After hearing the story Lane told us and all the things everyone else had to say I decided to look into it. Now for those of you who don't know what this stuff does, click on the link www.multicampattern.com/images.htm

But here are some pics of the gear. Lil expensive but look at the pics, its worth the price.

Thanks Toggle, now I'm addicted to this stuff. I even want a multicam Wasatch.

Chalk another one up for "impressed and understanding"

Crye all the way baby. I have yet to pick up a pair for myself, after a long talk with Rydiak I've found how. Yipeeee

Drop the "o".

It's called Multicam.

Nothing wrong with the pixelated camouflage the military is using.

The pixelation actually has a greater affect on how the human eye processes images than it does affect your ability to blend with nature. It's a micro pattern, like german flexktarn.

Trust me, I could speak for hours on camouflage, but you'd all fall asleep. Ask any of the Impact guys who heard me speak at the last Training day....

Multicam is fun stuff, but it is quickly becoming known as "airsoftpat".

what kind of camo do you use Knight? And trust me, I could listen to you talk about camo. I'm a big fan of new technology and getting to know the mentality behind it.

Depends on my mood.

TMF's official patterns for use are Multicam and Desert TIger Stripe.

I used to collect camouflage uniforms and combat equipment before I got into airsoft - since then, airsoft has simply allowed me to have an excuse to play with all this cool stuff I have.

here's a Multicam one from OP: WW3 for ya, though. And yes, it's all Crye Precision :).

I have a set of Multicam myself, but not from Crye.

Mine is the Enhanced Combat Uniform from SKD Tactical, and it is made from genuine Crye Multicam fabric. So while it may not have the Crye name, it is real Multicam. The whole set cost me $173, expensive yes, but cheaper than Crye. Plus Crye itself acknowledges SKD to be a quality manufacturer. And that's good enough for me.

As far as pixelated camo, look at Marpat. It works very well.

remember the one about the guy in the army that had that exercise at night. he had multicam on and the other guy was three feet infront of him with nvg and he could not see him cause he was in certain stance? dude, that story was the straw that broke the camels back for me. after hearing that i was sold sir, however i still prefer the pmc look, but i would not mind to have a multicam down the road, with a milticam m4.

He was wearing ACU in that story. Terrible camo in my opinion.

You get that IR protection on almost any real gear. CP included

I hear ya toggle, ACU isn't very effective... I like to compare it to putting off road tires on a race car and calling it an all-terrain vehicle. It's not very good wherever it goes.

MC is effective, but I've seen people wearing multicam while playing... They aren't as invisable as some pictures make it seem. You can wear OD or tan and, with skill, hide just as effectively.

I rarely wear full camo, and I don't have much of a problem if I need to hide a little.

I heard a story About ACU.

Guy claims to have joined the army. says his unit was one of the first to Get ACU. They didn't have ACU vests yet so they had normal woodland camo vests. When He's on a night patrol Guy claims He couldn't see his chest (woodland camo) but could see his arms and legs (ACU)

I have Also Heard a story from A freind Who says ACU is Great But htis comes from a guy that Couldn't See me When I was Laying In the dirt Whearin' OD And HE was shining A flash light on me!

ACU is not meant to be a cure all for all environments - it's the same deal with Multicam. Both are meant to work well in any environment, no be the best out there.

ACU is a fine pattern for what the military thinks is going to happen - ACU is effective at range, in a broad spectrum of environments, but it seems particularly suited for an urban environment - you know, that thing that it seems all modern conflicts revolves around.

Any camouflage will not work nearly as well as it is supposed to in the real world is as it does in airsoft. Why? Well, we're not engaging the enemy at ranges where camouflage is designed to be effective - 300-600m or so.

You can wear bright orange and dissappear if you're well versed in camouflage and concealment.

Never forget, it's not the gear, or the weapons - it is the MINDSET of the user that makes him effective.
