Well my birthday is just 'round the corner. I'm seriously contemplating getting a TM S-System along with a Zeke metal body, a few other external tweaks, and a PDI 120%.

My problem: this is gonna cost a lot. If I ask for this, it's probably gonna end up being my only gift (worst case scenario: I'm gonna end up chipping in).

So is it worth it? Should I buy it or maybe something else? And does anyone have any first hand experience with the S-System?

Shanks!

I'm not going to go into detail about it, but I own one and it broke on me. It looked really cool when I bought it, but it's really not a good gun and I strongly suggest you just buy a Classic Army. In addition, the upgraded spring will kill that gun.

I disagree. I think TM guns are the best for their price.

The only advantage a CA will have is a metal body, which isn't worth the trouble IMO. Get a TM, upgrade it responsibly, and it will last a long time. Ask my TM AK47. I do nothing but treat it like s**t and it's still shooting perfectly.

I have owned - and still own - several TM AEGs. All have been upgraded with PDI 130S springs and metal bushings. I only run 8.v batteries through them and have never had any problems.

The S- System is a fine AEG - it shares all the characteristics of any other Marui AEG - I don't even have issues with the plastic bodies.

In my opinion, a simple S-System AEG from TM, with a light upgrade and running on 8.4v batteries will last you a very long time. You could skip out on the zeke metal body for now until your cash flow improves. I'd be more concerned with loading up on extra magazines and gear first, and get the additional "extra" upgrades later.

Just my opinion, YMMV.
