This message is to any of the guys that have come out to our property before from HEAT. Here's what's going on:
We're having our yearly 3 day Island game on our private island. Team NIAA and Team UCA will be present. We'd like to extend an invitation to members of Heat that have attended our games before and like more of a real, mil-sim experience.
"Real" to us means:
-No concrete objectives (we land on the island, immidiately go hot, set up HQ, and it doesn't stop until 3 days later. We find that objectives create themselves when you have a realistic setting and lots of time.
-Only 6 hours of dedicated downtime a day (for sleep). The rest of the time is live-fire time. We sleep in shifts, eat in shifts.
-A mile long island with no civilian interaction. No civilian vehicles, buildings to take you out of the atmosphere.
More details to follow. This post is just to get the date out so everyone has plenty of notice. Post here if you're interesting in attending, and we'll work it all out from there. Also, go ahead and ask any questions you'd like here as well. E-mail is fine too.
Also, check out my Mp7 on e-bay.

Also, if that post didn't explain it clearly, this is Team vs Team. We don't split groups up and change things around every game. This is one, huge 3 day game. Not a bunch of little missions split up by a picnic. There are no vendors, nothing for sale. No coolers, grills, or frills of any kind. If you've been in the service, this is basically a three day FTX. It's extremely rewarding, but just know that it's isolated, and there are no breaks.
We'll be training up for the game soon and we'd like to get anyone that plans on attending out to drill with us so we can gel as one team when it comes time to go up against UCA in October.
-Cheers.

I am defiantly interested in attending this event. I will let you know for sure once the date gets closer and I can see what my schedule will be like.
Quick question though Kirk, do you guys have a website so we can get in touch with you, or any other way we could contact you to let you know?

Yeah, haven't updated since I left, but here's the website:
www.hometown.aol.com/g.../main.html
And just e-mail me at Geijuutsuka @ aol.com
Otherwise, just post here, I'll check back.
If you, or Adam could get me a list of guys that want to go, that'd be great. We can't have tons of guys show up, like I said, this is a private thing, but let me know who all is interested.

I'm interested in this. I should also have a new toy by game time.

Hey John, good to see you're still around. This one is an actual game. The other times you were out with us were drills. So, at least we'll be training more for it. Both teams are split the entire time, and except for sleep, it's live fire, all the time. From the time we set foot on the island, to the time we get off, NIAA and UCA are enemies. 8 year friendly rivalry makes for some good games. And having the entire island to patrol is also excellent. No boundaries except water.
As I said before, I'll post updates here.

Good to hear it worked out for you. Another thing I thought I'd mention is that our games only require at minimum, shooting glasses. I've seen a lot of posts about people holding games at public fields requiring full seal paintball masks in order to play. This is one of the many reasons we set up our own games, on our own land. And since we only invite teams privately, we know exactly who everyone is, and we know that there's nobody to worry about. It's when you get these massive 200 man games going when all the rules bog down the game. Our only real rules are as follows:
-Shooting glasses.
-Basic minimum engagement rules.
-Call your hits.
Everything else is a given. Full camo, professional attitude...etc. Our game style is very free form. Kind of like real life. Heh.
So, for now, the 3 days on the island will go like this:
Friday:
5pm-NIAA (and any HEAT players attending) makes boat landing on the island.
5pm-8pm-NIAA Sets up HQ, secures 55 gallon Drum.
8pm-Dark-UCA makes boat landing on the island. Live fire begins.
Sleep.
Saturday:
6 or 7am: Live fire begins.
And then Sunday goes like that as well.
Right now, UCA is working on objectives for both teams, but it's all going to be very free roaming. The 55 gallon drum I mentioned is a "Flag" that starts with us. It's UCA's job to get it, and take it back to their camp. At the end of the day, whoever has it gets the win for that day. That's the backbone of the weekend so we'll know who did the better job. Other than that, objectives create themselves. We've taken boxes of ammo before, we've taken food, taken prisoners......we're all friends since grade school so all options are open to us.
And of course, as the game gets closer, these details will become clearer...ie.....times....objectives....etc.

Kirk,
two questions,
who is UCA? I dont recall ever have played with them or heard of them. Do they have a site we could check them out at?
Second, are you going to post up the training dates for us? Would like to know alittle while in advance so I could clear out my schedule.
Thanks!
Freese

I'm there. Good to hear from you again Kirk, I'm glad you are still floating around after everything I heard that had happened. Count me in. I've been hearing about this for years, can't wait to give it a try.
