I know it's been a long time since I've been on here, but I lost the link when my comp crashed. Well, thanks to the newsletter, I'm back and I have something to say and a few questions.
In the mean time since I last spoke with you guys, I ended up litteraly stumbling upon another team. So, while I regret to inform you guys that I won't be playing with you guys, I'm happy to mention that I'll play against you with my team if you're willing.
Here's a link to our forums. If you're inturested, register and introduce HEAT to Odessa under Recruiting. s13.invisionfree.com/O.../index.php
My GF lives in Streamwood, which is fairly close. Maybe I'll stop by one day if we work something out.
We have a rather large field at our disposal to play on. I remember you guys were searching for a field and wonder if you've found anything yet. If you have a field and want us to come out for a game, let us know. If you would like to, we'd be happy to have your team out to our field.
Hope to hear from you guys soon. I'm Coyote on the Odessa forum. I'm also the spokesperson for our team. Send me a PM or a E-mail with any questions.

We are always up for playing with other teams. Can you tell us a bit more about the field you play at -- It sounds pretty cool. Hope we can get a game started sometime, but the weather blows right now.
Just a note: We dont really want to play against another team because that leads to competition, which then leads to cheating and sports like paintball, but hopefully your team is willing to even up the members when we play and switch teams after every few rounds.
So how many players does your team have and do they all have AEG's?

Adam brings up a few good points. On top of all of that, about what is the age range of the team? How long has the team been together? Throw us a little background, thanks for swingin back around.

This is what is available to us to play in. About 4 miles deep, I've been told by the owner's daughter.
This is what we actually use. The northern-most portion is our heavy playing area.
That is our field, Horse Park. We have verbal permission to play on this property and have never had any problems here. We have two portions of our main field, split in half. The north portion called the Green Field is a massive field of tall grass with several trees throughout it, surrounded by dense tree "tunnels" on the north and south side while the east and west side is a bit sparser on tree density. The south portion called the Dead Field is where we made bunkers and barricades facing east to west. The barricades face this way so that when both the Green Field and the Dead field are used togethor, the Dead field doesn't have such an advantage with barricades. The field itself is a dead-brown grass and tree field. The grass gets tall, but not very green and quite a few of the trees there are gigantic but dead. Good for TDM's and CTF.
Odessa has been togethor for about a year or more now. Ages range from 15-21. The average range is about 17-18. At this point, just about every person has a AEG, the few people that don't have things better then a springer at least, like a GBB.
Understand, we're not a terribly hardcore team in the fact that we dont' see facing another team as about winning or losing, but about meeting other airsofters and expanding our teamwork and enjoyment with others in a sport we all enjoy.
We'd love to face your team when the weather gets nice. And by face, I mean have a friendly game. And yes, we'd be more than willing to do 50/50 teams or even out the odd numbers for games, we're rather flexible and not very stingy. I'll set up a topic for you guys in our forum under Locations introducing you to my team members. I'd appreciate it if at least your spokesperson(s) would sign up and chat with us to flesh out any questions we may have.
Hope to play with you guys soon,
Rich

Wow that actually looks really cool -- and permission too, that's always good. We can try and come out sometime soon, but like I said before this weather makes it hard for our guns to work -- we will find out for sure by the end of the weekend, we have a game with another team (NIAA)

Still waiting for one of your spokesman's to come over to our forum and answer a few questions. Mind doing that soon?
Games > Locations > Team HEAT
Follow that to get to the topic I set up for you guys. I'd like to actually hear from you all and am really looking forward to a team game sometime in the spring. We have a game getting set up currently for January 15th that involves two other teams, Team SCAR (South Chicago Airsoft Resistence) and Team Raven Warriors. Maybe we can add HEAT to that list, eh? Contact us soon.
FYI, I don't know if I mentioned it, but we're located in St.Charles-Geneva-Batavia area and our field is just west of Randall Rd. about 10 Min. Looks like me might even be attaining a CQB area soon as well.

Any chance you guys have some pictures of your field (not the aerial kind)? That would be sweet. Sounds like you guys have a great place to play, our field is pretty small.

Southern Trail Fork
Dead Field
Spooky Tree in Dead Field
More Dead Field
Western Path along Dead Field and Green Field
Even more Dead Field
Southern Path (?)
Sorry it's mostly the Dead Field. We took these pics on one of the first days of scoping out the field before we actually started playing there, so we didn't know what parts we'd be using and wouldn't. I'll try and get more up-to-date pics to you guys soon.

That place looks great! Way bigger than our field. I would love to have a few firefights in those woods.

We're having a rather large game hosted at our field on January 14th (sat) for John's B-day. We'd like HEAT to attend along with the other two teams showing up, SCAR and Raven Warriors.

If you're Team HEAT then you're welcome (or a member of the other two listed teams). If you're not a member of HEAT then you'll have to ask them if they'll "sponsor" you. Basically, you're their responsibility and how you act affects them.

Go here for direction information. Only people from HEAT or sponsored by HEAT are invited. Please let me know if any of you will be attending.

I think a few of HEAT want to come and might actually go, but I know me and a few guys cant because of finals testing next week. Assume if there is no post by midnight tonight (yea, its kind of late to be RSVPing) on either our forums or yours, then nobody will be going.
I would assume if toggle47 can go, then a few more people can too.
