Hey there. I'm new to airsoft, and have participated in one skirmish with NIAA and some members of HEAT. I'm always looking for a game, so drop me a line. I live in the rockford area, and have reliable transportation for out of town games.
I'm a navy vet (1990-1994) (yes, I'm old) with some actual training and experience (though nothing like yoroiden's).
Loadout thus far (Ugly navy issue duty cap, bdus, molle vest, UTG mp5, TM g3sg-1 and UZI (recent ebay purchases), Well r-6 (crap), and a surpisingly good crosman USP co2 pistol.
Anyway, I hope to see you on the field. Drop me a line if you need more players.
John.

Check out Airsoft Classifieds. It is more risky than Ebay because its not being hosted by such a major company, but you can still find some great deals on there. Plus, the price usually doesn't go up -- you can work the guy down.

Let's see..the TM g3 sg1 was $160 plus shipping (barely used). The TM UZI was TEN BUCKS but the motor was locked up---upon inspection, gears had some metal bits stuck in them (not teeth), so I'm in the process of rebuilding that one. You can get a well r-6 for less than a hundred bucks shipped, but plan to tear it apart and spend money on an upgrade. Plus the well r-6 feels plasticky in comparison to a marui or even my utg mp5. The mp-5 was a hundred plus shipping, but you'll need some good mags (low caps) because the stock UTG mags feed horribly. Ultimately, the best idea is to spend the money on a TM or CA, but if not, well and utg make halfway decent guns.

A problem with that Well R-6 is that it does NOT feed standard mags. The only non-Well compatable mags are the DPMS A-15 magazines.

There used to be three or four of them. Unfortunately, there isn't a single one still in operation. The surplus store on Forest Hills is closed until October. Great Lakes is "closewd for remodeling" or something, but you can still order from them (you just can't go there). Check the flea market on Alpine on the weekend. There's a vendor there who has really cheap BDUs, belts, packs, etc. Rockford pretty well sucks as far as surplus stuff goes. I went to Trader John's in South Elgin for pretty much everything I have now. It's kind of far away, but he's got a ton of gear with good prices.

Check out the games page, we've got one set up with HEAT on the 16th. I'll hit your e-mail as well.
Take Care,

Sorry but I probably wont be able to add it to the Games page because I dont know how to set up private games in a way that would be useful to any members. Hopefully I can work something out in the future but I think this game will have to be left to forum posts and we can do it the old fashioned way (pen and paper attendance list)
Kirk, if you invite logan (John) I suggest you email or PM him with the info since he isn't able to view the private games section of the forums either.
Also, if you can, post all the details (start/end times, scenarios, etc) in the private forum topic so we know.
Thanks.

No problem, I've already e-mailed him. I'll get all the details once I get them nailed down with the rest of the guys.

Hey, I'm from Rockford but go to college in Chicago. Over last summer I got into airsofting, but I don't have that many people that I can do it with. Mostly I just meet up with my other 2 friends that have airsoft guns(the good gas kind) and we kinda mess around in one of our backyards(we all live near forests) If anything's going on around Rockford give me a call!
