Well, hello all. I have been collecting airsoft for a while (two years), but, never have gotten to play anyone else except for my friends. I'm essentially a noob to battles with more than a few people, hehe, but I'm looking for new competition!
I just got myself a Classic Army CA33E and I'm very excited... too bad it doesn't seem to be functioning... the motor refuses to turn over :-(. Hopefully that will be resolved tomorrow though (though suggestions are welcome). Regardless, I still have my trusty shotgun and my sprayer M4.
I am wondering if there are any events or people around the Hinsdale area, however, I am willing to drive a bit for a day's worth of airsoft. I also have a fellow friend who I have recently coerced to buy himself a FAMAS. So, if anyone has any plans, or willing to make plans, leave a message and you may not only get me, but my friend also, to join the fray!

Welcome to our website, enjoy it. What do you mean by the G36 in parentheses? I'm pretty sure the CA33E is a completely different gun than the G36...
Anyways, about the games; we usually just play at hosted events because their fields are much larger and always have fun scenarios with many players. It is also a great place to meet up with new members so maybe we will see you out at a game sometime. Public game listings are shown in our Game Attendance page and an updated list of members who are going is shown. The list only contains members who are registered with our website and who actually update their status`.
If you have any pictures, feel free to upload/attach them to the topic.

All I was implying by "(G3)" was that it was a replica of a real G3-type firearm--a mental picture for those who don't know Classic Army's gun, but know of the real firearm. In terms of airsoft, I guess that was confusing :-P.
Yes, I have looked around your game attendence page several times. The cost didn't excite me though, especially after shelling out 300+ dollars on my new gun ;-). Though, I guess that should be expected for large events. I was hoping for some freebie events :-P, especially useful for anyone who hasn't done any large scale airsoft before (done paintball, but, here we bring our own equipment and such).
Unfortunately, I lack a digital camera, or I would post some pictures.
Thanks!

The cost for airsoft is one of the best parts of the game, besides being able to shoot people and have fun. just think of it as this on average you spend a min of 50 bucks for a game of paint ball, maybe more, if you buy a good gun it can cost almost the same as an airsoft gun, then you need to buy air, paint balls and have a place where you play (no one likes a back yard full of paint). Now take airsoft, you can recharge you battery, shoot in you back yard, basement, where ever, ammo is cheaper and doesn’t make a mess, its way more fun, hell the gun looks real and its more of a team game where paint ball you shoot with 2 fingers and spray every where hoping to get a kill.
but i hear ya airsoft has set me back a lot of money probly a grand for all guns gear and extras for 2 people. its worth it, trust me

I totally agree Mustang, money is still one of airsoft's greatest benefits. As you went into detail, airsoft is far cheaper than paintball. Back in the day, I would have gotten into paintball, but it was far too expensive. I am finally getting into marksmanship (been a fan of marksmanship ever since Boy Scouts) once again and war games through airsoft.
Regardless, fishing out 300+ dollars for a single rifle is still a lot of money, even if it is cheaper than paintball.
I also totally agree on the point that paintball is kinda lame because it's all about volume of fire (I'm sure that can be argued though). Sure, airsoft has a volume of fire aspect as well, but, it is more acceptable to switch strategies. There are snipers. There are people who like close combat. There are guys who like assault rifles. There are few guys with gigantic machine guns. There are also guys who like good ol' cheapo spring guns even. No matter what path you choose, they all are more or less equal (hey, if you can make your one spring shot count, go ahead!), and can each add something fun to a team. It also adds a lot of variety to opponents. In paintball, most players, especially once everyone has bought their guns, are the same. Slight differences, but same basic concept: spray paintballs everywhere for cover, move up, flank, pin, win.
Apparently Mustang, you're not the only person who has collected "extra" airsoft for friends as well. Especially now I have my CA33E going, I have two very capable airsoft guns to lend out to anyone willing to play.
As for clothing and gear... I haven't even hit that aspect yet. Perhaps if I go out and join you guys in the fields I will think about it, however, for now, I'm quite happy with my camo pants from Walmart and a rugged green shirt--hey, my friends can't spot me in my backyard, so, I guess it's working :-P.
I was originally going to post just to state how awesome my CA33E is, now that I have it working. It's crazy accurate, even at long range, just like the reviews said... but it's a lot more amazing once you see for yourself. This is by far the highest FPS gun I own now (300ish FPS), which means definitely not good for close quarters combat in say, my frat house, but, that's okay. My Tokyo Murai Boys M4 is perfect for that anyway :-). Last, but not least, the fully automatic fire is darn near ridiculous. It makes me want to say "humming bird of death" but that's the TMP in Counter-Strike, hehe.
Can't wait to try my CA33E in some combat!
