I'm looking for buy a TM G3 SAS from precision Airsoft. Being that the gun only shoots about 280fps, I wanted to go with their upgrade service. Not sure which one yet but something to get the gun over 320fps.
Has anyone here used their service? I don't want to pay them to just screw the gun up. Now i'm sure they will do a better job than me since I don't know the first thing about upgrading the internals, but I want the thing to work correctly.
Any opinions here? Thanks

id sujest ask some people here on internal upgrading, learn and do it your self. there are videos someone posted around here. the best way is to do it ur self. much cheaper and ur sure someone wont mess it up for you, and tell you u neeed a new gun.

I have never used a service to upgrade my gun before. It's cheaper -- and a good learning experience -- to just do it yourself. I really dont think upgrading that gun is worth it though. The SAS is a CQB weapon and upgrading it won't inprove accuracy much. In the world of airsoft, any gun with a long barrel is more important because these bb's are inaccurate enough. This gun would make a great sidearm or CQB weapon if that's what you want it for -- I just wouldn't get it as a primary

Well it looks like it would cost me only about $70.00 if I do it myself and thats equal to their level 3 upgrade, which gives you about 375fps.
If I have them do it, it will run $130.00 for parts and labor.
Very tempted to do it myself....gotta learn some how right?
Now I can afford the extra mag too.
Please send more of your input.

yeah, i'm basically looking for a nice N small CQB gun. Maybe something to have on me if I play medic or something.
I've only played at Challege park in Joilet a few times and theres fields there that a small gun woud be great.
But if 280fps would be good, i'll just keep it stock and save a few $$$
what might a cheap upgrade be to bring it up to about 300FPS?
spring maybe?

Yea. Spring would only run you about $15 + shipping. What did you have in your list of upgrades that made it run to $70? In my experience, the only problem you would have with an upgraded spring would be a cracked gearbox, but that happened to me and my friend (most likely) from playing in 5 degree weather.
If you want power, just get a Systema M120 which will put you just below 400 especially with the battery that gun takes. That might actually be a problem: you may need a 9.6v battery to power an upgraded spring. If you dont want to hug the 400fps limit, get a Deep Fire M/S 130 or 120 which run between 360 and 380

My list of upgrades was everything they had in the level III upgrade.
# Systema M120 Spring
# Systema Aluminum Piston Head
# Systema Poly Carbonate Piston
# Systema Reinforced Air Seal Nozzle
# Systema Metal Bushing Set
they claimed it woudl take the gun to about 375fps
I was thinking about the battery situation. Not sure if a 9.6V battery will fit in the gun. The battery compartment has got to be pretty small since the gun is tiny.
I checked out eBay and found a used CA full stock for a MP5 for $1.00 + $6.00 for shipping. And then I did a buy it now for a longer battery wire so I can run the battery to the rear stock instead of the (most likely) front part. That way I can put a bigger battery in there.
I dont mind the 400 route, just gotta stay under to make the refs happy. If nothing else, i'll just use a heavier BB.
I assume a spring is a pretty easy thing to upgrade?

hmm those upgrads sound nice. i would get them just incase cuz the spring is pretty strong. and you will need a 9.6V bettery to run all those things. i think thats what im going to get for my TM ak. plz show me website or sumthing to ware i can get all that.

You only need the spring and metal bushings. The rest of the parts they include are just to waste your money. The aluminum piston head will destroy your gun because it hits your gearbox harder compared to a stock plastic one. Also, almost all hosts make you use their bbs for chronographing so using a heavier bb would be against the rules.
I suggest any brand of metal bushings (non-bearing) and a Systema M120. Use a 9.6v battery and it will be a successful upgrade. Video tutorials are found in our Downloads page under "Videos".

ah ok so just spring. cuz i was looking at this other one too to just play with my freindz, wich will bring my gun to 450 FPS. or around there, and they said they need all the other stuff, so thats why im thinking of getting them and when i want to just switch the springs.

Okay, airsoft GI will for the spring and bushings upgrade for $40.00.
Metal bushings, Systema M100 spring
OR
Metal bushings, Systema M120 spring for $45.00
Buying the parts on my own will still be about $30.00. Is it worth having them install the parts for $10.00?
Maybe i'll just stay stock.... who knows...lol
