Am buying a gun on airsoftgi, but i dont know if they will ship it to chicago IL cause many of my friends sat its illegal to.Is there anyother way?

get in contact with anyone you know living outside of the chicago city limits and ask them if you can ship it to their address. owning a replica is illegal within the city limits of chicago, so they will not ship there.

I guess the same is with E-bay, but i do know one of my friends in MT, Prospect not sure if i can trust him.

if your friend is older than eighteen then he can sign for it (which could be a bad thing if you don't trust him) but if his parents sign for it then you can trust them to keep it safe ( or at least i would hope they could)

Don't think so he's only 14 and neither he and or his parents are the house just his old coot (I MEAN HIS GRANDPOP) who doesnt know english.By the way when i emailed one of the sellers on E-bay they told me they sell em anywhere and they dont care bout the laws so id rather buy it from legal resseler but when i won my free AK-47 they shipped it to my chicago address my dad had to sign.

Edit: By the way i live in Chicago but its close to evanston,il so many say that i live in Evanston Vicinty, but my address still ends with Chicago,IL, so am not sure how i received the gun and it wasnt confiscated and nothing.

I have a question. Is it the company itself who does not ship to Chicago, or does the city's post office do checks to see if what you are receiving is an airsoft gun? I only ask because maybe some place overseas will ship it to Chicago as long as the city doesn't know your receiving one.

All of them undergo customs to check if it has ORANGE Tip right? but i bought a pistol once online they shipped it too, I guess they ship everywhere as long as cops dont find out that you have one, I think that Customs Confiscate guns without Orange Blaze, So companies ship anywhere but you buy it under own Risk.

the PO will not normally inpsect a package to see what's in it. HOWEVER, they will check what's inside, if they suspect something in it is hazardous. they opened the package i ordered - it had a polycarb piston in it. it could've been suspected of being an m80 or something. so it's a crap shoot whether they'll check it or not. i don't live the city so if they checked one of my packages what more if i still live in the city. i'd say about 65-35 chance they won't check it.

EDIT: i don't if this is true for all e-tailers, they don't really care if it's illegal to own where you are. it's hard enough to keep track of their books, what more if they track all the local laws of their customers. that's a nightmare for the person that tracks them.they put it on the buyers to see if it's legal to own or not. and in the end, a sale is a sale.

have it shipped "will call" to a ups store and then go pick it up. Call the store and ask them if they will do that and then call teh shipper and have him send it there for you, when your package comes in the ups store will call you adn you go pick it up.
HOWEVER: i tried to order some gun parts and they woudl not ship them to me becsue i live in cook county, when i called and asked if i could have them shipped to a adress outside of cook county they saif no becasue the billing adress was still in cook county. Most of teh airsoft stuff i get is in a plain box and none the wiser knows whats insideh hope that helps.

were the gun parts RS? that would be mainly the reason why. cook county is a big proponent for banning guns. and you are right. airsoft items are in plain brown packaging. the same brown packaging your playboys come in.

it was a a repair kit for a thompson smg, i was going to make a gun out of parts that i coudl get. In cook county you cant get anythign good, no tazers, mace and even some mags/ammo boo cook county

Adam: It will be shipped by UPS, so there is a little chance customs will check it, Because we last guns i order by UPS were received in perfect condition.

here is my input: I ordered my sr15 from uncompany. the money goes through and the gun ships on a thursday. Now it takes 3 days for a package to get here from hong kong. So that meant that my gun would have been in shipped to me on sat, but since it was a late ship time and hong kong is 13 hrs ahead from chicago it was shipped friday. This means the gun would have been here mon or tuesday. I didn't know what day to take off work so i called tnt. I spoke to a few people and none of them knew if it was gonna be in on mon or tues. So I cld once more sunday night to see if i could talk to some1 with brains. I spoke to a guy who told me something very intersting. The package and info is sent to customs via email before the package is sent. So they see what it is and if its legal whn u check the orange tip and marking covers. He also said as long as u dont order bb's with the gun, they will not open it. For some reason i can order an assult rifle replica with a charger and battery and it will not be checked cause i did not order bbs. Cause whn i ordered my p99 i did get bb's with it and they did open the package to inspect what was in there. So my advice is order a cheap gun, dont order bb's or a battery and take ur chance, its your best shot, otherwise your kinda out of options bro.

Hmm I just got my Pistol with everything including BB's and the package wasnt opened because the plastic was still on the box...and I buy stuff from california.

yeah, getting it from a wholesaler in cali is safer than hong kong and they have accounts and prob a contract with customs. So thats why ur stuff was not opend.
