don't have anything to buy yet. but ill keep that in mind. and on a side note, the spelling thingy you put on here is pretty cool adam

like i mentioned before. they only have a physical brick-mortar store in the state of california hence they have to charge california buyers and CAN'T tax out of state buyers. it's online marketing that some politicians want changed so they can have more money.

birdman did it actually say a tax amount on the final invoice of your order? or was it just the footnote that "some states may be taxed" on their product pages?

it gave me a final tax price of like 24 something dollars plus the cost of the gun. maybe when i placed my order is when they were overhauling their site, and they didn't have all the bugs fixed yet

It is possible as you can see now, their site is different especially checkout system.

are those star mags metal?
their current layout is a hell of a lot better than it was before.
birdman, if you do decide to order and the tax still shows up just call them up and they should charge it back to you.

GR, I had star mags for my AK a while ago. They're plastic, but they can take a serious beating. We USED to play in the rubble of a demo'd building (it was demolished decades ago) and I would just drop mags when I reloaded and pick them up later. Once I dropped a loaded mag, didn't notice until the next game where I found it, popped it in my gun, and started shooting again.

They're really, really good mags. I just wish they made midcaps for my AK, too.

Yes STAR is a very good mag company, especially for mil-sim as you can see they make real cap mags.

Actually Star does make AK mid-caps that hold 105 rounds.

And various other ones from 70-160 rounds.

So has your stuff arrived from evike yet?? Also I was wondering how they go about applying the orange tip to the M15 style CA guns. They don't do anything stupid like paint the flash hider and then glue it so it can't be removed do they? Also, they don't remove trademarks I hope. Please let me know because I think I'm going to order my gun package from there.

It's only been 2days. Unless he paid quite a fortune for overnight delivery it wouldn't be at his doorstep till next week. The free shipping is usually ground so it's about a week (give/take a day or 2) til you get your stuff.

CA has Armalite's license so CA always has trade on their M15s. TM doesn't have Colt's license that's why their trades are burned off/puttied over. I don't know if the other companies have licenses but some MBKs have come with Colt trades as well as other trades. CA guns don't have glued on flash hiders. It's screwed on and locked with a set screw.
