#1: Not quite a purchase, but this is the only place it fits... Author: LaneAtomic, Location: Lake Zurich, ILPosted: Fri Jan 25, 2008 4:41 pm ---- I made a sling. Sells for roughly $30 online. I made it for somewhere between $10 and $15.
attached:
Uses 11 buckles in all. 10 slide buckles (9 are "quick adjustable") and a parachute buckle (for quick detachment). Though it may look metal, the parachute buckle is plastic. I liked the finish on it. Inch wide nylon webbing. Sling is fully adjustable for length. I figure I could easily make it an additional 12+ inches longer. I'm a big guy, and there's plenty of slack left over for fine adjustment.
It was inspired by the Viking Tactics two-point sling (as seen here). It isn't as quick-adjusting as the VTAC. The buckle I was using isn't beefy enough to be able to do that, and I can't find a better one. However, the VTAC one isn't quick-detaching like this one, at least not as it comes (I think they sell the equipment to make it quick-detach though).
