You don't have to buy a SERPA - that is just one of many options out there currently. Try looking at BHI's regular lineup of dropleg holsters, or even Eagle's - they can be had four about 60 dollars and are just as good.
#3: Re: To sum what I'm buying... Author: Method, Posted: Sun Oct 08, 2006 7:13 pm ---- My mom doesnt even know Im buying a sidearm so I have to buy a holster secretly. Ill just get a leash.
#4: Re: To sum what I'm buying... Author: Knight, Location: Woodstock, ILPosted: Mon Oct 09, 2006 11:00 pm ---- A leash is a good idea, but you'll really want a better holster. Like I said, there are many great brands out there that are real deal, high quality gear. Hell, UM82 holsters can be found for as little as 30 bucks, and they're USGI issue.
But, that's my advice.

#7: My New MOLLE vest, all OD baby Author: Method, Posted: Tue Oct 10, 2006 6:54 pm ---- Ok, so here is the new vest and other items I ordered today...
================ Matt, my mom said that she rather buy brand new stuff rather than used. If it were up to me, I'd buy your vest, sorry, hope it doent bother you.
#8: Re: My New MOLLE vest, all OD baby Author: mustangpwr, Location: NorthfieldPosted: Tue Oct 10, 2006 7:53 pm ---- that belt wont fit when you wear the vest, and you need to cut the molle straps near the top to get the camel back to fit and not hit your butt
#9: Re: My New MOLLE vest, all OD baby Author: Method, Posted: Tue Oct 10, 2006 8:02 pm ---- The belt is for my pants so my holster can hook up to, not for the vest.
Thanks for the advice on the pack.
#10: Re: My New MOLLE vest, all OD baby Author: mustangpwr, Location: NorthfieldPosted: Tue Oct 10, 2006 8:03 pm ---- it still wont fit that belt is like 2 inches wide
#11: Re: My New MOLLE vest, all OD baby Author: Method, Posted: Tue Oct 10, 2006 8:14 pm ---- It wont fit my pants...?
#12: Re: To sum what I'm buying... Author: Knight, Location: Woodstock, ILPosted: Tue Oct 10, 2006 10:17 pm ---- I apologize, they're called UM84, not UM82.
They're also known as the M12 Holster - made more so for the Beretta M9, but fit large frame automatics like 1911s.
Anywhere.
They're normally on eBay, US Cavalry, actiongear.com, Ranger Joe's, etc.
If you go to any of the local gun shows (Kane County's is really good), you can normally find them all over there, too - and normally for the best price of around 30-40 bucks.
#13: Re: My New MOLLE vest, all OD baby Author: Knight, Location: Woodstock, ILPosted: Tue Oct 10, 2006 10:20 pm ---- Won't fit. Wider than your belt loops.
Like Mustang said, it's 2" wide. You need something 1 3/4" or narrower.
Go with some sort of Rigger's belt instead. Tougher, more stiff, and will hold a holster better without sagging as much.
#14: Re: To sum what I'm buying... (merged) Author: DeadEye, Location: Roselle, IllinoisPosted: Wed Oct 11, 2006 2:20 pm ---- Eh, the two inch width is fine. It would still fit under your vest comfortably. I wear a two inch belt under mine, and it doesn't bother me at all. But I will go with them on that you may need a thicker material belt in order for it to hold a pistol better.
#15: Re: To sum what I'm buying... (merged) Author: birdman, Location: Hoffman/carpentersvillePosted: Wed Oct 11, 2006 4:29 pm ---- they dont want thicker they want thinner dude. hes using it to hold up his pants. a 2 inch belt wont fit in the belt loops of pants.
#16: Re: To sum what I'm buying... (merged) Author: Freezer26, Posted: Wed Oct 11, 2006 6:03 pm ---- Wearing a pistol belt with a vest or chest harness can get really really uncomfortable, just keep that in mind.
#17: Re: To sum what I'm buying... (merged) Author: DeadEye, Location: Roselle, IllinoisPosted: Wed Oct 11, 2006 9:02 pm ---- Well, just wear a regular belt to hold up the pants, and put the web belt around that. It's not that complicated. Or you can just attach the pisol holster to a regular belt. I use to that, but that got really un-comfortable, so I switched to a web belt.
#18: Re: To sum what I'm buying... (merged) Author: LaneAtomic, Location: Lake Zurich, ILPosted: Thu Oct 12, 2006 5:19 pm ---- If you're going with a pistol belt, get belt keepers. Trust me on this one. Only thing that'll hold my duty belt up when I'm at work (I'm a security guard, and load up my duty belt with a ton of crap). There's a place up by CLC that sells that sort of stuff for pretty cheap. It's called Tri-County Uniform.
#19: Re: To sum what I'm buying... (merged) Author: Yoroiden, Location: Vernon HillsPosted: Thu Oct 12, 2006 9:50 pm ---- Where by CLC is this Tri-County Uniform place? I live about 20 minutes from the campus.
