How was Operation Takedown? I was going to take a road trip to the event on Sunday, but the snow put a damper on things.

it was pretty good, Joe Eric and I skipped today becasue we had school work to do still and last night we got home at 11 pm so I didnt want to add 3 more hours to that drive tonight and have a pile of homework.
Pros: it was cqb in a school so it was fun, lots of flashbang simulators which were really loud, my mad rush and slide into a group of 8 guys on the other team which i shoud have shot instead of "saftey killed" puching open a door held by one guy with 4 people and havign the glass end up breaking and a heat only squad.
Cons: waaaaay to many peoeple on each team, poorly organized, no saftey meeting or discussion of story, plot, rules ect (basically set up and go play) way to many stops to the game and the other team not calling hits and stuff like that (birdman has it on the helmet cam and so would I if i had mine).
Overall it was ok, since we had a squad of us that was kick ass, but I woudl never go back to a game hosted by them again, meet some cool people and had fun but i woudl give the game a C- for poor planing, making the story fit to how the game was played and not haveign a breifing at all.

The second day was a lot better because we threw the story out the window. Everyone separated into teams of about 8 no matter if they were DHS or POD. Two teams would be sent to an area to shoot it out or have like a hostage situation. Rooms included the basement, auditorium, and various classrooms.
I really had a good time when a team including myself had to clear rooms with IED's ("booby traps") that were using trip wire, pressure devices and the whole nine yards. And the things that we were disarming were the training grenades which blew up and were loud as hell.
The first day was alright but I think we got our money's worth that second day. The school has a potential to be a great airsofting spot if the organization of the people running it gets better.

I had a good time overall. True there were problems on the first day, namely a lack of communication, too many people for the space available, and being forced into following a script. There actually were briefings, but the side we were on (POD) didn't recieve nearly as much info (much of it conflicting) as the DHS did. But overall it wasn't too bad.
I do think that they really made up for it the second day. It seemed to run much smoother, and we had more refs around to keep an eye on things. Plus it was interesting to try and defuse that IED with Sureshot. And the matches in the auditorium kicked ass.
The only thing I didn't like about day 2 was how much the guys who 'took over' kept ragging on Ryan, even though he made it clear that he hadn't run an event before. I expect that there's going to be some flaws the first time around, and I'm willing to give him another chance. Now if he continues to have problems, then to hell with it.
I have relatives that live about an hour away from RDA and the school, so I'll probably be able to try a couple more of their games and see if things improve.

And by walk through he means sit in it for 20 minutes while it slowly coated our lungs, then sang out loud and smoked cigarettes in it. It was actually really an awesome experience!

this is Tim from DHS we had no Intel till we went through the first 2 games and that was sight the first day was fun when we were playing the down time was just a SNAFU the kids tossing down the FB trainers was crazy they should do a good safety meeting for those next time i would say smaller teams next time a age limit but that is not always the problem day two we had a kid could not have been 14 and he was good the thing is the down time was a killer

the first game they were not it was the players or the the people that set up the game were really dumb cause those things were thrown down no warning hit so guy on the head good thing he had a helmet put a nice dent
then the refs started to roll the FB trainers
