Well today I got my new Golden Bow/FirePower A47Beta and A47S from Palco Sports. Palco Sports is located in Maple Grove Minnesota and is well known for their Firepower brand of pistols and AEG's. Many of them are less expensive springer types found at your local sporting goods store. These AEG's are new to PALCO Sports and have only been available for about a month.
While I think these AEG's are great. I do not think they would ever replace a TM, GG, GP, or CA. But for people that are on a budget and are looking for a really nice second, third, or forth AEG. This would be a nice one for you.
PACKAGING
When I opened the box on the Beta, I was very surprised by how well the AEG was packaged. Nice cover and well packed foam kept this AEG from moving around. It was also covered in shrink wrap to keep everything together. Next, I found that the AEG came with an 8.4v Large battery, a small overnight charger, a 600rd high capacity magazine, and a vertical foregrip.
FEEL
This gun feels very, very solid. This is helped by the fact that their is weights located in the foregrip and in the battery compartment (Upper Reciever). For players that like their gun light, you can remove the weights by unscrewed 2 screws (Upper Receiver) or just by pulling on them (foregrip). All in all a very solid feel.
FINISH
I must admit that I am a big fan of the black furniture on these AEG's. I personally cannot stand the fake wood look on the TM or any brand AK. But the black just makes this gun look mean.
The upper reciever is metal and the lower is plastic. Exactly identical to the TM AK series.
FIT
Everything is held together tightly! There is no wobble or cracks when you try twist the stock (or any other part of the AEG). It is very solid.
BATTERY
While this AEG came with an 8.4v LARGE Type battery, I had plans on adding a 9.6v. However, I think it might be hard to do as the 8.4v just fits in there. This AEG also came equiped with a fuse assembly which I plan on removing in the future.
FIRING
I have a little range that I use! I was able to put my High Cap into my AEG and plug away. TANK told me that most of these AEG's fire 350fps right out of the box. After firing this today, I would have to agree. Distance was not an issue and bb's were hitting their target hard and straight. Semi-auto and full-auto were flawless and trigger response was right on the money.
HOP-UP
This is ansjusted just like the TM version. Pull back on the ejector port and slide the little lever forward or back to adjust the hop unit. Mine did not need any adjustment out of the box (with .20's)
MAGAZINE
While it is not a TM by anymean, these AEG's come with a large style High Cap. I loaded my mag up and went through an entire mag with no problem. NO DOUBLE FEEDS OR MISFEEDS. Not a bad deal and they are way cheaper than TM also. The magazine was also metal, not plastic.
GEARBOX
I have not taken this apart yet. But from my conversations with TANK (MAA Member and Palco Airsmith) he stated that the gears are steel and are good quality. Again, I have not opened the box up, but that is the information I have from a trained airsmith.
RELIABILITY
I cannot score this as I just got the AEG. I will update as soon as I get some more field testing done.
PRICE
$150 USD! That is right! For only $150 USD you get the following:
1 - Firepower A47Beta (Black Furniture)
1 - Cleaning Rod
1 - 8.4v Large Battery
1 - Overnight Charger
1 - 600 rd high capacity magazine

Even though it is a TM copy. For a $150 USD you cannot go wrong.
OVERALL
Based on my initial review of this gun I would have to give it an 8/10. With the only drawback being the lack of playing time with it. Otherwise, it is a sweet deal for a sweet little gun. I think the owners of these AEG's will not be sorry!
I hope this review helps and people enjoyed reading it. If you want one of these awesome AEG's. Please e-mail me at: sales @ tacticalgearusa.com
