Well, since you were asking about A&K AEGs in a different topic I'll take it you're on a budget.

Try www.sportsmansguide.com
Or www.cheaperthandirt.com
Or hell, any of the various airsoft sites or eBay.

If that's all you're interested in carrying look at chestrigs, not vests. Less bulky, more efficient, a lot cooler in the summer to wear, and basically more handy to someone not going for full on MILSIM and only needing the basic magazine carrying capacity.

Wow. I forgot about Cheaper Than Dirt. If you're on a budget, look into getting ALICE gear. It's what I've been told time and time again, as a new player myself, to look into. I found the suspenders, belt, and three packs for a little over $50 at www.ims-plus.com

Ok if you want a generic, OD, sturdy vest that has plenty of room for g3 or any type of mags.... THIS I didnt have the money after getting my g3 and i didnt wanna spend money on a MOLLE or something like that with a bunch of m16 pouches to fit g3 mags. I got this for now until i fing something and it works great. Tons of huge pouches and its cheaper. If you dont really care about a having a generic vest get this.

remember that if you are using an M14 the size difference between that mag and the M4 mag is pretty big, (an M4 mag will fit in an m14 gear pouch but NOT vise versa).

There are 2 schools of thought, now spend the big bucks on a nice vest/rig that you will use for a long time, or get something cheaper and less expensive now until you find exactly what you are looking for. my brother and i combined have gone through 6 rigs total before we found the perfect set up that we both love. I started with ALICE gear that i got in total for 30 bucks and thats a web belt, 2 mag pouches, 2 canteens, SAW pouch, butt pack and medical pouch.

Look around at pictures of vests and people wearing them and find a vest that every time you look at it you think man this is bad ass, i got my vest for 70 bucks...its msrp is 200+. Just look and take your time it has taken Eric and i over a year to get our vests but i would never change what i have now.

Where'd you find the ALICE gear for $30? Cheapest I can find is $50 for suspenders, belt, and 3 pouches.

Lane - that stuff is everywhere for cheap.

Look into eBay, Cheaper than dirt, Sportsman's guide, and similar places.

Or, conversly, go to shops like Trader John's in Elgin, or local flea markets. ALICE gear is dime a dozen.

i collect military gear so i pieced the collection together from going to rummage sales, army surplus stores and online, the most expensive part was the saw case which cost me like 9 bucks the rest was either 2 to 5 dollars for each piece.

Hey Lane, if you want to head out to a surplus store sometime in the near future I was planning on going to Trader Johns in Elgin sometime in the next 3 weeks, let me know if you want to tag along?

Sure Freeze, it'd be fun. I'm going up to The Adventure Store in Waukegan at the end of the week, to pick up some pants and see what they have. Just shoot me a PM with more info. Very Happy
