One thing that I saw on Arnies Airsoft was that they took the metal extension off the outer barrel so that the flach hider was set directly on the handguard. Then instead of the sg1 handguard, they bought a g3a3 guard and put it on to give it the hk21 look. Then I would just have to think about getting the bipod on. If I do end up getting the money though, I may just get the RIS.

Alright well I think I got the handguard part done. All i really wanted was something to hold the gun by cuz holding on to the c-mag would be hard, so I got a short weaver rail that i placed near the rear (near mag well) of the handguard so I can fit a vertical grip on there. All metal rail about 2-2.5 inches long for 3 bucks.

I've read that a metal piston would do even more damage to the gearbox. A titanium toothed piston might be the better choice if you want durability...
at least you tried to enforce rule #1, right...

now, would this qualify as not speaking from experience? (trying to be as friendly as possible) Mr. Green

going back to topic... i can see the argument of the full metal piston as oppose to the standard polycarb piston since the weight of the full metal piston is 2x that of the polycarb.

a full metal piston only varies slightly in weight from the full teeth-polycarb piston. for those that suggested full teeth as oppose to full metal, please explain how ~0.1oz can adversely affect the gb.

I think Jules from Pulp Fiction (Samuel L J) said it best "Correctamundo". You're completely right, but with the amount of work I've done to gearboxes, I know -- not so much from direct experience with metal pistons, but with the knowledge I gained from working on the guns -- that I should be advising against a metal piston.

Keep up the good work Wink
