As soon as I turn sixteen and have a steady job Im going to make an airsoft howitzer. Too insane? The minimum range I want is 300 yards. Of course it will be able to fire under that range and above it. I will ask my dad for thoughts of the functions of it and he knows machineists and alot of people that i can ask for asvice. If I ever get it done it will be the most dangerous airsoft weapon on the battlefield.

Being more explicit with what Atlas was saying with sarcasm ...
You could never use something like that in a game. Think about the physics of this. How fast would you have to shoot a .2g bb in order to make it go 300 yards? I'm sure it is much faster than 400 fps. Now imagine 400 bbs moving at this fast speed. Now think about the danger of someone being hit by 400 bbs moving at that speed (if someone accidentally walked in front of it, or it were aimed in a downward position). This thing would not only be strictly prohibited at any respectable airsoft field, it would probably be against some sort of state or federal law. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

If it weren't firing BBs, but rather something such as a nerf football, it'd be a TINY bit more safe. You'll want to down the range on it (300 yards is three football fields. I don't think any of the fields in the area are even that!) Take a look at some of the rocket launchers at games, and you'll have a good idea of what's safe and what's effective.

There are two great truths in Major League Soccer:
1) Your team is either from Chicago or a suburb of Detroit.
2) Detroit sucks. |

Thanks Lane for giving him positive direction. Sometimes when people post things like this we just like to shoot them down.

Hey all. I'm Camman's dad. He's really into this, and after several days of my "think about it" advice, he's still wanting to order the Echo 1 G36C A.E.G.
I even offered a membership at the range (real guns), but he's really wanting to shoot these little plastic things.
You can guess I'm an outsider to the Airsoft phenomenon, but it sure looks like fun. The only thing at all like it I've ever done was some paintball back in my Navy days, when during Libya's idiotic saber rattling the military, in its wisdom, decided the Marines should do some "urban anti-terrorist combat training" with us bluejackets. Hilarity ensued, and I'm sure a good number of our jarhead instructors went back and begged their commander to never, ever order them to train us coke-drinkin', air-conditioned space inhabiting, push-buttons to kill 'em, worthless excuses for combat lackeys. We were insanely untrainable.
But the paintball was fun, even if we were always getting killed.
Anyway, thanks for giving my son a fine reception. I'll be superintending things (obviously), and I anticipate a lot of safe fun.
Best of luck to HEAT.

You and your son are welcome to come out anytime and play with us at a public game, we would be more than happy to have the both of you tag along for a game. If your not sure if you want him jumping into the sport head on, or if your not sure if you want to play, come on out, and well loan our a gun for you to borrow for the day.
Welcome to the site!

No, the Navy is the air conditioned space inhabiting push the button to kill force.
The Air Force is just the air conditioned space inhabiting force. they dont even push any buttons
