man, I would love to make this game. If only I've played with you guys before. Hell, I didn't even play with Jason when he was on NIAA (holy crap that was a long time ago...) I noticed a few people speaking about WGF. What's going on this month there?
Not trying to shanghai the thread, but just wondering. If you want to start a new thread, that'd be cool.

Yeah, only way to get to it is by boat. 3 day commitment, that's why I'm giving so much warning. I know it can be tough to get time off. I'm taking two days off myself. Shows you how it's worth it though.
And to the guys who haven't played with us before, believe me, this isn't NIAA being picky, we just want to have it run as smooth as possible since it is 3 days, and we are playing against an older, experienced team on their land.
Open games will follow, that anyone can go do, then once we know you, private invites are an option...etc.
Of course, if nobody steps up to fill in the other slots, I'll have to trust Kevin, or John's opinion.

Birdman's been running with Toxic 6 lately, so I'd say he's a good choice. They know how to get things done.
I might not be able to make the game (though I'm trying), but I can help at the practice if you want.

Yeah, if you want to help out on the 23rd, that would be great. Freese, are you still good? Any ideas to fill the other two slots?

I should be good. I need to put in my request for my PTO at work. I also need to pick up a few more M4 magazines before hand.

Not sure who from Cifor. I know that if they do get some Cifor help, Jeremy will make it. He was out in Rockford for a day of games 6 or 7 years ago before any of the Chicago Airsoft stuff even happened, really good guy. But other than him, no idea. UCA had them out to their property once, and then they went up and played a game with Team W in wisconsin with them.
Also, I should mention that Luke, Chris, and myself are Scuba divers, so...there's a chance they'll scuba to the island....or at least a scout will.

I might get Chris F to come out. He used to come out with us back when we first started playing with you guys. I vouch for Chris 100% Then I will talk to Freese, we might have my buddy Adam tag along. Strong player, good with working in teams, and also likes to sneak around like me.
My playing style has changed a lot since I've last played with you guys, this should be fun.

Hey Guys, our warmup is this sunday, wanted to check in to see who would be heading out. One important thing that we'll all need is radios with a headphone system of some kind. at least earbuds. Consistant, reliable, QUIET radio communication is a big part of sticking it to UCA.

I'm still good to go. If needed I can bring a couple guys from my new team to be OPFOR.

Sounds good. Early morning ambushes are something we need to get back into. As long as we don't clog up the very limited parking with vehicles that should be fine. Kevin, everything still set?

I'm set, I thought you weren't coming? I had already lined up two others. s**t.
I'll be there Sunday hopefully, I just need to work out this situation with the other two; Chris and Leo. Freese, you'll have to help me decide whom would be more useful on the field.
What time is the training starting on Sunday Kirk?

Kev, did you mean me? I meant I'm good to go for the practice, I still can't make the actual game.

Yeah, Kevin, Jon is just assisting with training on Sunday, we still have three openings aside from yourself, so you're fine.
As for time, any time between 11 and noon is fine. We'll be out there a hair earlier to check the field out. Also, let me know who will be showing up before then.
Kevin, I'm going to send my cell number to your t-47 e-mail in case you get held up.
Basically, bring your gear, weapons you plan on using, and radios.
Any last minute changes, post them here, I'll check back frequently up until sunday morning.
Otherwise, see you guys out there. Thanks for the effort.

Looks like the rest of my team bailed, so it will be just me as OPFOR. I should get there before 1130.

Kirk, I got the email. Leo and I will be driving up together. We might be bringing Freese too, I don't actually know. We might be running late, if so, feel free to start without us and we will find someone to give us a quick recap.
I will call you tomorrow if we do end up running a bit behind schedule, otherwise we will see you around 11

I had to work today, so I wouldn't be able to make it. I would say Leo would be a good bet for the game, but keep Chris around just in case one of us can't make it, he is a solid player to.

We'll be off the island at 3pm. If you need off sooner, arrangements can probably be made.
Also, I've tried to get a hold of kevin via e-mail but he hasn't responded. Wanted to give a schedule, and a packing list.
12:00 (10/12/07)-Rockford IL, NIAA Field.
From there, we'll head to my house. We'll go over our gear and make sure everyone has everything they need. Anything we don't have, we'll go into town and buy.
17:00-We'll be at the river, ready to cross with UCA.
Recommended Packing List:
-BDU's
-Boots
-Load bearing vest
-Weapon/s (soft case minimum, there will be civilians at the river bank)
-Knee Pads
-Gloves
-Large ruck sack
-Headlamp/flashlight (gets incredibly dark out there)
-Food (MRE's...Sausages...simple food that doesn't require bulky pots and pans to prepare)
-Water (2 canteens per man ABSOLUTE MINIMUM)
-Tent/Shelter
-Ammo (we're sharing as well)
-Batteries (we're sharing as well)
-Spare Mags (we're sharing as well)
-Poncho/wet weather gear/bags
-First Aid kit (bandages, gauze, neosporin at least)
***-Radio (MUST have a earpiece, and MUST work, even when you're whispering. If you can't whisper into your mic, it's useless.) The most important radio transmissions in these island games are whispered. (ambushes) We find that throat mics do NOT work well for this. My suggestion is just get earbud headphones, and talk into your shoulder. (the mic on the radio itself)
-----------------------------
The most important part of packing for this game is only pack what you NEED. If you have space left over after you do that, then start packing things you WANT. You want to have a ruck on your back, and a weapon in your hands. That's it. All of this stuff will fit easily into a large alice pack. If you have to bring anything else (large tent), keep it to a minimum, because you're going to have to lug it around. Marching a mile across rough terrain with bags, straps, cases, crates and bottles hanging off of you isn't fun. Fully loaded out, you should be combat effective so, try to keep it to a ruck, and your weapon. (more than one weapon is fine, as long as you can carry it without being bogged down, or having to ask for help)
That way, the second we hit the island, we'll double time it to camp, set up, and have plenty of time to set up for UCA's landing.
Gameday is coming fast guys, everything is looking good, keep in touch.
Any quetions, post them here or e-mail me.
