Work suckage as usual. My first day off is this Sunday (10/14), and the wife already hs a list of 'honey do chores'. Then I have training in Berwyn next week for recert in EMD, then its back to the grind for moi.
I need trigger time, at this point real steel or airsoft, it doesn't matter.

Trying to find a Police Department thats testing, trying to stay out of trouble and being ever mindful of the Zombie threat.

Adam 2.0:
Vigorously proving the theory "beer before liquor, never felt sicker" and contemplating alternative realities based on experiences which will most certainly result in the Endless Obsession and the unexplainable rule of Everything in its Right Place!
Adam 1.0:
Seriously though, what good would having two computer monitors, a background in web development and a CS major (tba 2011) be if I weren't exercising my abilities to rock `da web? Well, as you all know I helped SureShot setup his website, www.airsoftice.com, and I am now helping a non-profit organization that needs someone to create a functional website for handling their volunteers' information.
I am still working ... mowing lawns ... and I plan to be finished within the next few weeks. After that, I am down for an airsoft night at Dennys or Fudruckers with my home boys and their new teammates.
PEACE OUT

Where's the range in Aurora/Naperville area? I'll be out that way Saturday, and was thinking of bringing my Rossi for some practice.
And things have been going well here, just changed my major to Criminal Justice, trying to lose weight, and working my arse off.

There are two great truths in Major League Soccer:
1) Your team is either from Chicago or a suburb of Detroit.
2) Detroit sucks. |

I really need to browse and read all the forums more then once or twice a month.
JR's is in Aurora. I haven't been in their new store yet, just the old one that was on Maple Ave in Naperville. Knowledgable, friendly staff, on the pricey side for firearms and some accessories. www.jrshootingsports.com/
Second closest place is Megasports out in Plainfield. Arrogant staff, pricey on everything. Range costs, last time I was there, was like $30.00, now it is $15-22, if you purchase their ammo. www.megasportsfirearms.com/
Rinks out in Lockport. If they are still around, $5.00 or $10.00 to shoot, pistol only, no double taps, no hot loads, .44 cal permitted if it is SWC (Semi Wad Cutter) small range, dimly lit and 'dirty', meaning it is non-vented. Go in and you'll see what I mean. Also a rotating stock of used guns. They're located on Archer Ave (Rte 171)
Gun World in Bensenville. (Gone thanks Dick Daily) $10.00 for all day, shotgunning permitted indoors, rifles limited to .22lr.
GAT Guns in Elgin. Never been out there heard + and - things about them.
Bullet Stop Gun Shop; Loves Park (Yeah the one out by Rockford.) Range was in a semi attached building. You can only shoot if you purchase a hand gun from them though. I bought my Savage .308 rifle for $200 less then what they were selling them for at Megasports. Knowledgeable staff.
Midwest Sporting Goods in Lyons. Limited selection on weapons last time I was in there, however had alot of accessories and magazines. Used to shoot all day up at their Waukegan store, back when I worked for Motorola and was in the reserves. (Bought my .357 from the old store in Downers Grove) www.midwestguns.com/
(Edit 11/21/07 2200 cst Additional ranges, and added websites

...words. Maxon's in Des Plaines is MUCH better, range-wise. Otherwise, GAT is a great place. That's where I bought my wheelgun. |
I forgot about Maxon's. I've been in there twice, and both times there was a wait for range time. Good shop though.
For an outdoor, legal range, nothing beats Buffalo Rock. It's out in Ottawa on the other side of Starved Rock State Park.

If you go to Maxon's during the week, there's usually no wait. Fridays and weekends are insane though. They enforce a 1 hour limit on range on the weekends.
