I saw this on Unconventional Airsoft, it seems like a really fun game for some reason hahaha.
| Quote:: |
I was working on a few props some time ago when it was pointed out to me that it was surprising I hadn't come up with a Zombie game yet. (I like zombie movies)
I realized this was true. So the other day when we played some dusk/night games at our field we tried ZOMBIE RUN.
Here were the basic rules:
People take turns running a gauntlet of "Zombies" to reach the escape point. The human ("Runner") is armed with one sidearm and ONE magazine (or AEG and one locap works too). The runner wears a red glowstick, cause as we all know zombies can sense the living...
Zombies only have to touch the runner to infect/kill them. Shooting a zombie stuns them for 5 seconds. Shooting a zombie in the THIGH kills them instantly (hey, we'd all rather use headshots for realism but I'm sure we want to keep our teeth...)
The Zombies of course are all the other players (unarmed, naturally).
For fun you can mark the furthest point the human gets to as a "high score" and see if anyone can beat it or win.
Best played at dusk or in twilight.
------
Here's how it worked out for us:
The human started out in the field about 100 meters from the church (the "safe point" to reach). The zombies (everyone else) started near the church.
The Church (this pic was not taken the night we played. I tried to take some pics but the camera saw nothing but blackness due to the lack of light.):

Now, here's the thing. Once it was twilight out, our field was layered in THICK mist and fog. It made the game very memorable.
And the church with the green glowstick-lit doorway looked pretty creepy in the mist, frankly.
The zombies could easily home in on the red light the human wore because as we all know zombies can sense the living...
No one made it QUITE all the way to the church but some came really close to making it.
The mist was cool because you couldn't see anyone very well unless you were close but the zombies could see the red indicator clearly and could easily home in on the player.
As zombies we all made excellent moaning/groaning noises, too.
I'd love to try it again, maybe with some small variations if needed (2 runners at once, or one human in the church to provide some backup for those last few dozen critical feet, etc) We had a total of 8 players (1 runner, 7 zombies) and I think that worked pretty well.
-----
Simple! The further you get to the safe area, the higher your score. The more zombies you "kill", the higher your score! Who cares! It's fun!
Pick up your friends, your guns, your eye protection, a red light, and try it tonight! |
I say we give it a try one night haha.

hell yes!! that would rock. i could see the runner starting from the base of the drive way and having the tree house be the safe zone.
also, we should have some kind of no running zombie rule since there are so many players.
and how about making the kill shot a little harder and further from the junki, like a shin shot or maybe a forearm shot or something.
anyway the game would work, i would love to play

Ok heres something that just came to me. Let me know if you guys like it or say stay with whats there.
Alter it from zombies to vampires... Then you get a GBB with a limited amount of ammo and we find some sort of single-action, short distance weapon that they carry also. The pistol is used to freeze them like stated above. Basically it shocks them, and they lose themselves for a certain amount of time. Then the single action (I was thinking a shitty springer) has to be used to kill them off. That way it is harder to kill them, and the most you can to is stop them temporarily. Then it will also allow the vampires to run if the hunted decides to run. Because I know if I were being hunted by zombies, my ass would run to safety and just shoot anything in my way. If they were vampires they would have the ability to keep up with the person, that making the game more of a challange. Think of the springer as a shotgun that shoots wooden stakes lmao
This will fun no matter which way to go with it.

i second adam's motion. it has to be zombies. there are only 2 or 3 ways to the tree house anyway. unless you want to swim... but i have to admit, with shotguns and pistols, the vampire thing might work. You would definitely have to 2 gun it though. i mean look at our pistol vs. AEG match. AEG's got killed everytime.

the awful "house of the dead", C.H.U.D., CHUD 2, dead alive, theres plenty.
how about this: 1 guy, the runner, has a gbb (or that one ebb, ha ha) and a mag or 2 for it. and there could be another survivor in the tree house with an aeg with 1 mag (low cap), both get a radio so they can watch out for eachother.

im in, i defs want to be the zombie!! as soon as i get my pistol fixed that is...
just my input, i think the zombies should be able to run, but are stunned for slightly longer, cuz think if you had to walk up to the 1 human... u would get shot every time.
or maybe im missing something.....

you swarm the runner, like 5 guys at once.
or maybe we could do something like it takes 3 shots to bring the zombs down

maybe im just over confidente, but i think i could take 5 guys down before they ever got close, its not like the runner isnt going to be careful or anything. ofcourse then again ive never had five guys run straight at me.
Ive had the cover of a bunker against like 9 or 10 ppl, but i guess its not the same....so we will see

my idea:
no running for zombies
3 shots to stun a zombie
shin hits kill a zombie (to simulate a head shot and not get people hurt)
2 mags total, any gun combo
2 humans, 1 in the safe house and one trying to get to it
humans have radios with no ear pieces
zombies must take out both humans

this sounds like a sweet idea, but ofr kill shots we should just designate a 1' x1' area on the torso. that way we dont have to wory about bloody shins.
just an idea
