H.E.A.T. Get's a S.A.W.
So after the Challenge Park Extreme game in August, one of our members, mustangpwr, had his first run-in with a S.A.W. (Squad Automatic Weapon) up close and personal. Before the summer he played a few CQB (Close Quarter Battle) games with one and he knew what it was capable of, but he was always on the receiving end and the games were always played in such tight areas that the power of the gun was never unleashed. "I knew I wanted a SAW, not an M60 because M60’s are older and I wanted to stick with a new weapon, I also wanted a Classic Army because I am happy with my other gun -- the M15A4 -- and Star’s M249 was well not anything close to a CA. Now my search had been narrowed down to one brand, but I still had 3 guns to choose from. I don’t like the para, so that narrowed it down to a full stock or the metal tube stock. The metal tube stock uses a mini battery which I don’t like and it lacked the upper heat shield, so my choice was set. I was going to get the full stock CA M249. I had the gun I wanted now I needed to find a place to buy it. After a one-week search every day after school and even during school I found www.kastwayairsoft.com. They offered exactly what I was looking for the gun: battery, box mag, and a charger for about 100 less then what it would cost if I bought all the pieces separately. So with my order of the S.A.W. and a few other items, it was shipped on a Thursday and let me tell you that was the longest weekend, checking the tracking number twice a day and waiting for my new toy to arrive. So Monday it arrive. I get the box, all 40 pounds of airsoft goodness, and I carried it to my room, that was a heft not because it was 40 pounds but because it was a large box that was slick and I was deathly scared I was going to drop it. Well I didn’t drop it and it made it safely to my bed and after 30 minutes of unpacking, vacuuming and cleaning the new toy was on my bed, but it's no toy. It's heavy to pick up and there is a lot of metal, this is the real deal, so I throw a battery in the charger load up a high-cap and get ready, I still need to wait, not like I hade to wait all weekend I need to wait more, good thing it was only 20 minutes. With the time along with my patience up I slap in a mag and let her rip, and rip it did it went through the 30 rounds so fast I could not keep up winding and the range, with no hop up it was getting the same range as a pistol. The S.A.W. is a truly fierce gun; it feels real in your hands, its loud, fast and spits out bb’s like a beast. I cannot wait to use her on Sunday. Stick with me and you will get cover. I just feel sorry for the other team, they don’t know what’s coming." -MustangPwr |
